Bathurst ’77 A9X Torana Brock & Rutherford Box set

$85.00

($77.27 ex-GST)

In the pre race hype, much talk seemed to favour another Torana victory, but in the end Bathurst ’77 is best remembered for the 1,2 finish of Moffat and Bond in the XC Falcons.

This was also the debut year for the mighty A9X 2 door hatchback at Bathurst and a hint of things to come for this formidable racing machine. This race was also famous for the number of international drivers competing. With two Indy wins behind him, American Johnny Rutherford joined with Janet Guthrie, the first woman to compete in the Bathurst big race. Only problem was that their car 17 Torana crashed early on, with Janet never getting a chance to drive.

The Brock brothers, Peter & Phil teamed to drive one of the three Patterson Toranans, and despite many mechanical problems, they still managed a credible fourth placing.

This model is part of a collection and sold as is.
